If you’re looking to test your comfort zone without going extreme, this adventure gives you a full taste of Oman’s wild terrain - canyon to summit - with safety, guidance, and style.

Day 1 – Snake Canyon Descent & Village Stay

Depart Muscat early and travel into the heart of the Western Hajar Mountains. After a short drive off-road, gear up at the entrance to Snake Canyon - Oman’s most iconic natural waterpark. Over the next 4–5 hours, descend through a narrow gorge carved by millennia of flowing water: jump into deep pools, slide down natural rock chutes, scramble through boulders, and swim through shaded narrows.

After a full-body canyon adventure, enjoy a well-earned local lunch in a nearby mountain village. In the afternoon, head into the mountains to reach the tranquil village of Balad Sayt, nestled beneath terraced farms and stone cliffs. Check in at a local guesthouse, relax, and watch the sun dip behind the mountains as you enjoy traditional hospitality and dinner.

Overnight: Guesthouse stay in Balad Sayt (~1,100 m elevation)

Day 2 – Balcony Walk & Via Ferrata on Jebel Shams

Wake up to the sound of village life and fresh mountain air. 

After breakfast, transfer to the Jebel Shams plateau - Oman’s most famous high-mountain destination. 

Hike the Balcony Walk, a stunning trail carved along the edge of the Grand Canyon of Arabia, offering sweeping views and a sense of scale you won’t forget.

At the far end of the trail, clip in for a safe and scenic via ferrata experience - climbing iron steps and cables along a vertical cliff, fully guided and secured. After the climb, return to the plateau for a rest and light lunch, with time to reflect and recover. Optional: end the day at the canyon’s edge with one last panoramic viewpoint before beginning the return journey to Muscat.

Overnight: Guesthouse stay in Jabal Shams. Next morning - back to Muscat.
