Vertical Cave Descent & Underground Exploration
7th Hole is one of Oman’s most iconic vertical caves, located deep in the Salma Plateau. This limestone shaft opens into a vast underground chamber, offering a rare opportunity for those seeking a thrilling mix of abseiling, cave exploration, and rope climbing.

Itinerary:
🚙 6:00 AM – Pick-up from your location in Muscat
Our guides will pick you up from your location in Muscat. Enjoy a scenic drive toward the Jabal Akhdar plateau in comfortable air-conditioned 4×4 vehicles.
🎒 8:30 AM – Arrival & gear up
We arrive at the 7th Hole entrance. After a safety briefing, participants receive equipment (helmets, harnesses, ropes, gloves) and prepare for the descent.
🧗 9:30 AM – Abseil into the 7th Hole
The adventure begins with an incredible 120 m abseil into the massive underground cave hall — one of the most unique vertical descents in Oman.
🍽️ 11:00 AM – Snack break
Short break to rest, hydrate, and enjoy the impressive surroundings of the cave and plateau.
🧗 12:00 PM – Rope ascent (SRT climb)
Participants climb back toward the surface using Single Rope Technique, completing 15 m and 30 m vertical ascents with guide support.
🏔️ 1:30 PM – End of adventure
Return to the vehicles and prepare for the drive back to Muscat.
🏙️ 2:00 PM – Departure for Muscat
🚙 ~4:30 PM – Drop-off in Muscat
Return to Muscat after a unique underground adventure.
Important Notes:
✔ This tour is physically demanding and involves vertical rope activities. Participants must be comfortable with heights and have moderate fitness.
✔ No previous caving or climbing experience is required, but basic body fitness is important.
✔ All equipment (helmets, harnesses, ropes) is provided and the tour is led by certified rope access & cave guides.
✔ Minimum age: 12 years old.
✔ Tour is not suitable for people with a fear of heights, claustrophobia, or limited mobility.
